At this time of the school year, we invite all interested parents to submit their name, or the name of another to be considered to serve as a Parents' Club Board Member from July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011.
Incumbent Parents' Club Board Members can also be nominated for the coming year.
Please read the following general information and job descriptions of all the Board positions.
Currently we have openings for the positions of:
President
Vice President/Fundraising Chair(s)
President
The President works closely with the Principal and is a member of the school Advisory Council to coordinate Parents' Club activities including fundraising throughout the school year. The Principal, President, Vice President and Treasurer initiate direction and change in fundraising goals and budget. Officers report monthly to the President on their committee activities. Agendas are set by the President and approved by the Principal. The President leads Club meetings. The President communicates all Club activities to all members of the club. The President also remains as an Officer the following year as Past President.
Time per week: 6-8 hours
Vice President/Fundraising Chairs(s)
The Vice President works with the President addressing issues pertaining to the running of the Club. The VP is responsible for all aspects of the annual fundraising auction event including concept, budgeting, scheduling, volunteers, planning activities, overseeing actual event and voting with the rest of the Parents' Club Board on allocation of any revenue in excess of required subsidy amount.
Time per week: 6-8 hours
Treasurer - Julie Boles
The Treasurer is responsible for all accounting procedures related to Club activities including: monthly financial reports, weekly deposits, preparation of all payables and annual reports. The Treasurer oversees the "Financial Close" committees at fundraisers, establishes procedures and generates financials by event. The Treasurer works with the President and Vice President to create the Parents' Club budgets. Parents' Club has standardized accounting procedures using QuickBooks Pro.
Time per week: 6-8 hours
Room Parent Coordinator - Alicia Herrick
The Room Parent Coordinator is the Club liaison to the Class Room Parents. This position coordinates the activities of Room Parents with regard to class parties, field trips and other school functions. The Room Parent Coordinator also helps budget for the class fund.
Time per month: 3-4 hours
Hospitality - Debbie Giusto
Correspondence
includes writing thank you notes & remembrances, family assistance &
obtaining and delivering teacher and staff appreciation gifts. Time per month: 1-2 hours
Secretary - Darcy Castillo
The Secretary is responsible for all recording and corresponding functions. The Secretary will also record the minutes of each meeting, make copies of the minutes & distribute at each meeting. A final report with all the minutes for the year is submitted at the end of the term.
Time per month: 4-6 hours
Social Events Coordinators - Kathy Lee and Sherrie Grundgeiger
The Social Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all Parents' Club social events such as New Parent Orientation, Welcome Back Coffee, Grandparents Day and Catholic School's Week. The Social Events Coordinator will also facilitate the family Buddy Program. Time per month: 3-5 hours
Art Committee Chair - Meaghan Hengehold
This person works with the 9 class art docents to coordinate art lessons in each classroom during the school year as well as the auction art project by class. This Chair will oversee the auction art portion of the fundraiser. Time per week: 4-6 hours
Historian - Lara Shoop
The position of Historian will be responsible in helping to chronicle the school year in pictures. Time per month: 2-3 hours
Church Mouse Hours Collection - Tiffany Baumann and Tish Lehane
This position collects; records and tracks parent service hours. Any member of the Church Mouse Board is always welcome to attend monthly Parents' Club meetings. Time per month: 6-8 hours
